What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future. It takes a holistic approach that involves the patient directly in their own care.

Fun fact: Physiotherapy and physical therapy Are the same thing

One confusing aspect about our industry is that people believe physiotherapy and physical therapy are two very different things. Physiotherapy is physical therapy! Depending on the country, both of these terms are used to describe physical medicine and rehabilitation that improves mobility, function, and overall quality of life.

why choose Us?

Experienced Physiotherapist

Although just about anyone can do a relatively acceptable massage (in fact, we actually encourage you to massage your friends), the truth is that learning the theory of where to massage counts. Instead of just massaging an area generally with the same movement, our therapists are able to utilise all of the different motions available in Swedish massage to help you properly get rid of the tension and relax at the same time.

Consultation Time Included

Another gripe that some people have with massage treatments is that they pay for an hour treatment and then they only get 45 minutes or so after taking into account for changing and consultation time. We thought that was unfair and therefore make sure that, as long as you arrive on time, you get the full amount of treatment time you pay for.

Conveniently Located

Lastly, our studio is located in Finniestion which is slap bang in the middle of the West End and City Centre of Glasgow which makes it easy for you to get to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is physiotherapy just for athletes?

No, the techniques used during your treatment are applicable to anyone who is suffering from injuries.

Physio vs. Sports Therapy?

In most cases, the techniques used in physio and sports therapy are largely the same. The real difference between these treatments though is that after physiotherapy sessions, you will receive advice on exercises to do at home to prevent the issues from recurring.

Will The Treatment Hurt?

The truth is that those stubborn clumps of muscle need to be broken down for you to feel free again so when we apply pressure to them, it can be a bit sore.

With that in mind, many people actually quite enjoy the sensation as can be quite cathartic.

How Quickly Will I Notice Results?

Right away! Although each treatment gives different results, we are confident that you will get results right away after your treatment has finished whether that is in the form of relaxation or pain relief!

When should I avoid physiotherapy?

If the following apply to you, then you should avoid booking a massage treatment: If you are sick If you’re pregnant (pre-12 weeks) If you have inflammation If you are suffering from nausea If you have bruises, wounds, rashes, or severe sunburn in areas you’d like a massage If your doctor does not recommend you receive at treatment

How Often Should I Book In?

It’s difficult to say exactly how many you need because every person is different. Some of our clients just need one session every few months, others get a treatment every week. The best way to understand what you need is by following the expert advice of our therapists. Before and after every session, they’ll give you a clear understanding of where you’re at and help you figure out what you need to do next to achieve results going forward.

What payment methods do you offer?

Payment is always taken prior to bookings via our website booking system.

What is your cancellation policy?

Officially, our cancellation policy is that you need to give 24-hours notice before your treatment to cancel. However, if wake up the morning of your treatment and are violently sick or have an emergency situation, we’ll happily re-schedule you. Unfortunately, we can’t refund you if you forget your treatment though.
